steven isserlis plays beethoven

For all of you lucky things in the UK you can listen to Steven Isserlis play all the Beethoven cello sonatas with Robert Levin on Radio 3 tonight at 19.00. I am planning an evening listening in on the computer.

Don't miss the man with the hair and an angel's wings for a bow arm.

so glad you caught it, mb. i know people who were around when casals was performing and they never heard him. We mustn't miss these beauties whilst they grace us with their voices on earth. by the way, wonderful words as ever over chez toi....

(ps i am not at all influenced, no, that i have known him since i was 4 and have been desperately in love with him most of my unmarried life...)

I can see why you might feel that way about him! The poem, by the way, was written the day before... so no, it wasn't in response to the music. But it *could* have been! Thanks again for sharing such a treat; I've listened several times now.
