figs

here are some field picked figs nestling in the shade of our square foot garden 'lay me down' tomatoes.

:-> I remember seeing figs growing on trees for the first time. I was visiting in California, and it seemed quite magical to me. Still does.

How lovely, Ruth, we're just getting some here in the markets but it's not the same as fresh-picked. And I'm glad to see a corner of your square-foot garden! Wishing you happy summer days - like that recent painting of Julian's of the cat in the sun.

I love figs and have over 40 varieties in my backyard. Do you know what this variety is? It's so unusal with the ribbed sides.
